Long Beach Boathouse
This project calls for the design of a community crew team training facility and boat house on Naples Island in Long Beach. The facility houses the sculls and all of the associated rigging and equipment for the activities of oarsmen, but the boathouse is also a place for the crew team, coaches, and riggers to carry out their daily rituals of training. Conceptually, the building breaks the threshold that separates the community and the crew space on a site-wide scale, building scale, and materiality scale.
